David Topolewski began his academic career at the prestigious Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, graduating cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. In his first job out of college, he served in corporate finance for Smith Barney. Operating from the firm’s offices in New York and Dallas, he provided merger analysis and business proposals to various companies in the financial services, energy, housing, and retail sectors. He then furthered his education at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Studying finance with an emphasis on management and operations, David Topolewski earned his Master of Business Administration from the institution and then utilized his knowledge as an Associate with the investment bank Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin (now Houlihan Lokey). Continuing to focus on mergers and solvency options, he developed advanced cash flow models to help analyze firms. Utilizing his broad financial knowledge, David Topolewski took over as the Chief Financial Officer of a leading supplier of high-end wine, spirits, and cuisine to Asia and California. From there, he accepted the Chief Financial Officer post at HBA/Hirsch Bedner Associates, a hotel interior design firm responsible for some of the most recognized hotels in the world, including Shangri-La, The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and Hyatt.
After directing prominent companies for several years, Topolewski turned his attention to technology and video gaming with 7th Level. Joining the company when it was still a start-up, he oversaw all of the legal, financial, and general management tasks for the enterprise as it expanded and went public on the NASDAQ stock exchange. He proved instrumental in developing a high-tech production studio that attracted blockbuster deals, including video games featuring Monty Python and Howie Mandel.
Leveraging this experience, David Topolewski became the Executive Producer at Cortina Entertainment, helping to develop Jackie Chan’s Stuntmaster and Anpanman, an eponymous title featuring one of Japan’s most recognized animated characters.
David Topolewski now brings this vast expertise to Qooco as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. Providing innovative, blended education solutions to students seeking to learn spoken English and Mandarin, David Topolewski and Qooco are currently involved with numerous programs to bring state-of-the-art educational opportunities to people in need in Indonesia, China, the Philippines, and Cambodia. Some of the organizations the company has already partnered with include the YMCA and AkarakA, an organization that provides funds for education to underprivileged children.
